Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat cook the milk until bubble form on the edge.
  2. In a separate bowl combine the cornstarch, sugar and salt.
  3. Pour in small batches into the milk and whisk well to prevent lumps.
  4. Continue cooking until thickens and coats the back of a spoon. Do not boil.
  5. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla.
  6. Pour into serving bowls or large dish and chill in the fridge to set before serving.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat add the milk.

Cook until bubbles just begin to form on the edges.

In another bowl combine the sugar, cornstarch and salt.

Add the cornstarch to the milk and whisk it together well.

Stirring constantly, cook the milk until it is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.

Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla.

Pour into a large bowl or individual serving dishes and chill in the fridge until set.
