Through the Garden Gate- House #7

Large oak trees provide cool conditions for the gardener in this home that has a beautiful view of Lake Ontario.  Visitors to this garden are initially impressed by a Terra cotta frieze that was a present to a previous owner by an engineering society.

Originally a hay field the top level of this two tiered backyard is populated with ferns, coral bells, hostas, wild ginger, lamium and soloman’s seal while the lower half provides enough sun to substantiate phlox, daylilies, irises,  rudbeckia and coneflowers.  Limestone steps with a nautical themed railing provides access to the two levels.
