Through the Garden Gate-House #11

Five years ago the owners decided to revamp their whole front garden to solve many of their wants and needs.  They enclosed the front porch, created a seating area, eliminated the lawn, provided space for their bikes and erected a privacy barrier all in keeping with the Arts and Crafts style of the house.

The backyard garden utilizes the steep ravine with multiple levels each with their own functions.  The lowest area has a quirky Swiss Family Robinson feel with steps festooned with nautical ropes and posts and a family fire pit area.

A pool on the highest level of the property is bordered with low maintenance plants and a shade garden with astilbes, daylilies and euonymus surrounds a terraced patio on the middle tier.
