Through the Garden Gate 2012

This past June marked the 25th anniversary year that the Toronto Botanical Gardens have been touring private gardens throughout neighbourhood in Toronto.  To celebrate they have returned to the gorgeous streets of Rosedale, one of the most popular tours, for a fourth time.

In a neighbourhood where ancient trees and diverse topography frame the architecture of some of Toronto’s most opulent homes, it is hard not to be distracted by the outside facades before you even venture into the richly creative gardens.  But like many tours past, Rosedale is no stranger to the whimsical and decadent when it comes to landscaping.

*The day I visited the gardens it was a cloudless scorching day.  Not the most conducsive for photography. I apologize for the “brightness” of many of the shots.
