False Sunflower

Also known as the Ox Eye Daisy and not to be confused with the tall, seed producing Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) the False Sunflower is a popular perennial native to Ontario. Bright yellow or orange blooms on top of thick sturdy stems are perfect for picking fresh and as you remove the flowers more will take it’s place.  The false sunflower can be cut back by half in the Spring which will encourage a bushier growth and a profusion of flower buds. This trouble free plant is also drought tolerant and long lasting.

This perennial can be divided either in the Spring or the Fall every 2-3 years.
