Snickerdoodle

These cookies are an old favorite that are easy to make and have a wonderful cinnamon sugar flavour.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups plus 4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl cream together butter and 1 1/2 cups of sugar.
  3. Beat in the eggs.
  4. In another combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar.
  5. Add the flour mixture to the butter and mix until dough forms.
  6. In another bowl combine the cinnamon and the 4 tbsp of sugar.
  7. Form the dough into 1 inch size balls and carefully roll them in the cinnamon sugar.
  8. Place on prepared pans and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the bottoms just begin to brown. Let cool on wire racks.
