Can be found in nature on or at the base of trees.

  • Flowers: Yellow, red, white, cream, purple, spotted and speckled. Blooms in Spring and Summer for several weeks.
  • Soil/Potting Preference: A medium mix of fir bark, moss and loam with 1 to 2 cm pieces of bark, perlite and charcoal. Prefers a plastic pot.
  • Watering:
  • Active Growth: Keep roots moist.
  • Dormancy:Allow medium to dry out between watering.
  • Fertilizing:
  • Active Growth: Use ¼ strength every third watering.
  • Dormancy: Do not fertilize.
  • Light Requirement: High light levels with 4 or more hours of direct light.
  • Temperature Requirements:
  • Night Time Minimum: 6°C
  • Day Time Maximum: 24°C
  • Humidity Requirements: 50 to 60%
