Phalaenopsis

  • Flowers: White, pink, yellow, lavender, spotted and striped. Blooms throughout the year.
  • Soil/Potting Preference: A medium mix of fir bark with 1½ to 2 cm pieces of bark, perlite and charcoal for mature plants. A fine mix of fir bark with ½ to 1 cm pieces of bark, perlite and charcoal for seedlings.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly in the morning then allow to dry out.
  • Fertilizing:
  • Active Growth: Use ¼ strength weekly.
  • Dormancy: Use ¼ strength twice a month.
  • Light Requirement: High to very high light levels. Can be left in the direct sun all day.
  • Temperature Requirements:
  • Night Time Minimum: 15°C
  • Day Time Maximum: 30°C
  • Humidity Requirements: 50 to 80%
