Pesto

Pesto can be used to top meat, stir into pasta dishes or even added to mayo to spread on sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil, packed
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a blender add the basil and nuts.
  2. Pulse until well combined.
  3. Well the blender is running slowly pour in the olive oil.
  4. Add the cheese and garlic and blend until smooth.
  5. Use immediately in your recipe or pour into ice cube trays to freeze for use later.
