Meatball Subs

These are so easy to make.  A package of frozen meatballs, some vegetables and a jar of your favorite pasta sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg frozen meatballs
  • 1/2 red pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 jar pasta sauce
  • 4 sub buns
  • 2 tbsp margarine
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Cut each bun 3/4 f the way through. Butter and sprinkle with garlic powder. Broil until lightly browned.
  3. In a skillet over med-high heat cook meatballs until heated through.
  4. Add onion and red pepper. Cook until soft.
  5. Stir in pasta sauce and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle a little bit of the cheese in bottom of sub bun.
  7. Fill each bun with meatballs and sauce.
  8. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and broil until melted.
