Maraschino Cherry White Chocolate Cookies

My mom always topped her shortbread cookies with a sliver of maraschino cherry.  It was my favorite part. I nibble away the cookie around the cherry leaving it for the last bite.  Funny how I never thought to put the cherries in any other cookies until I found this recipe @Avery Cooks .
