Maple Sesame Vegetables

Stir fries are meant to be cooked at a high heat incredibly fast.  Tougher vegetables always go in first followed by the softer and more delicate ones .  Any vegetable combination works well with this sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups broccoli
  • 4 cups snow peas
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/8 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a skillet carefully toast the sesame seeds. You know when they are down when they start to brown and pop. Remove to be used later
  2. Add broccoli and snow peas to pan. Cook until just getting tender.
  3. While vegetables are cooking whisk together the maple syrup and soy sauce.
  4. Pour sauce over the veggies. Cook for about 8 minutes or until everything is tender and sauce has reduced.
  5. Sprinkle the vegetables with your sesame seeds, sesame oil and green onions just before plating.
