Cream Cheese Chocolate Brownies

Everybody love the flavour of cheesecake and brownies.  This recipe marries them perfectly.

  • 3 medium eggs
  • 4 oz of sweet chocolate
  • 3 oz of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 5 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the chocolate and 3 tablespoons butter over a very low heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Blend reminding butter with the cream cheese until softened.
  4. Add 1/4 cup of the sugar to the cream cheese mixture, beating thoroughly.
  5. Next blend in 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of flour and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla and set aside. This is your cream cheese layer.
  6. Beat the remaining 2 eggs until creamy and thick.
  7. To those eggs gradually beat in remaining 3/4 cup of sugar until thick.
  8. Add the baking powder, salt and 1/2 cup of flour.
  9. Blend in cooled chocolate mixture and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. This is your chocolate batter.
  10. Spread half of the chocolate batter in greased nine-inch pan.
  11. Top with the cream cheese mixture and spread evenly.
  12. Drop the remaining chocolate batter in tablespoonfuls over the cream cheese layer.
  13. Zigzag a spatula through batter to marble it.
  14. Bake in oven for 40 minutes. Allow it to cool completely before cutting into squares.

To make these decadent treats

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a nine inch baking pan.

In a medium saucepan add the sweet chocolate and 3 tbsp of butter.

Over low heat whisk them together until melted and smooth.  Let cool.


In a medium mixing bowl blend together the remaining butter and cream cheese until softened.

Blend in 1/4 cup of sugar,

One egg,

1/2 tsp of vanilla,

And 1 tbsp of flour.  This is the cream cheese layer of your brownies.

In a large mixing bowl add the remaining 2 eggs.

Beat until they are thick and foamy.

Gradually beat in the sugar until thick.

Add the baking powder, salt and remaining 1/2 cup flour.

Beat everything together until smooth.

Blend in your cooled chocolate and vanilla.

This is your chocolate batter.

Spread half of the chocolate batter in the bottom of your prepared pan.

Spread the cream cheese batter on top of that.  Pour in the remaining chocolate batter.

Using a knife, zigzag through the batter to create a marbling effect.  There is no right or wrong way to do t

Bake in your preheated for about 40 minutes or until tester comes out clean with inserted in the center of your brownies.

Try really hard to let them cool completely before slicing.  See how pretty they look with their marbling and layers.  Enjoy!!!
