Gingersnap Cookies

There are just some cookies that people either absolutely love or absolutely hate.  Gingersnaps are one of those.  All my friends who love them think this recipe is perfect.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl combine the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger.
  3. In a mixing bowl cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in the egg and molasses.
  4. Mix in the flour mixture until combined.
  5. Place some sugar in a shallow dish. Roll the dough into 1 inch balls.
  6. Roll into the sugar until completely covered and place on prepared pans.
  7. Bake 6-8 mins or until tops begin to crack. Let cookies cool on wire rack.
