With over 35 thousands cultivars and rising, the daylily is one of the most diversely available perennial you can plant in your garden and my all time favorite.  Named for the length of time one flower blooms, you can buy early season, mid season or late season plants to create a never ending supply of gorgeous flowers.  A mind boggling number of shapes, sizes and colours the upright flower stems make for perfect cut flowers, and deadheading encourage more blooms to appear.  The grass like blades of leaves give the plant textural appeal as well.

Divide daylilies in the late summer every 4-5 years.
