A popular cut flower.

  • Flowers: White, green, yellow, orange, red, and brown once a year for at least 4 weeks.
  • Soil/Potting Preference: A fine mix of fir bark with ½ to 1 cm pieces of bark, perlite and charcoal. Prefers a plastic pot.
  • Watering:
  • Active Growth: Keep roots moist at all times.
  • Dormancy: Allow medium to dry out between watering.
  • Fertilizing:
  • Active Growth: Use ¼ to ½ strength weekly.
  • Dormancy: Do not fertilize.
  • Light Requirement: High to very high levels in full sun.
  • Temperature Requirements: Cool to moderate temperatures with at least 8 to 12 weeks of 5°C to 10°C nights to encourage flowering.
  • Humidity Requirements: 50 to 60%
