Cardamon Cookies

These are perfect along side a cup of chai or steeped tea.

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup powder sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cardamon


  1. Beat together the butter and sugar. Mix in the vanilla.
  2. In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking powder and cardamon.
  3. Carefully add the flour mixture to the butter mixture until ball of dough forms.
  4. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and place in fridge for an hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Remove dough from fridge and working with 1/3 of the dough at a time roll on to 1/4" thick. Cut out shapes using your favorite cookie cutter and place on prepared pans. Repeat with remaining dough. You can gather up scraps and re roll up to 2 more times before the dough gets over worked.
  7. Bake in preheated oven until beginning to brown 8-10 minutes. Let cool on wire racks.
